SignWriting List
July 1st, 2010
Hello Eda and everyone -
I had a little trouble translating the Portuguese in these diagrams. Google Translate did not do a clear translation, but here it is anyway. My answer is below the diagram:
First, Eda, I would like to ask if you could use our modern software, SignPuddle Online? Here is SignPuddle for Brazil:
SignPuddle for Brazil
http://www.signbank.org/signpuddle/index3.html#sgn-BR
Because we are using a new set of symbols, called the International SignWriting Alphabet 2008 and 2010. The symbols that you show in your diagram have changed. I can see you are using older software - perhaps you are using SignWriter DOS or SWEdit? Those two programs are not using the ISWA.
If you go to SignPuddle for Brazil, and enter your LIBRAS dictionary:
LIBRAS Dictionary in SignPuddle
http://www.signbank.org/SignPuddle1.5/index.php?ui=1&sgn=46
and click on the SignMaker button
In SignMaker, you see the Palette of Symbols.
1. Click on the Circles, and ...
2. there you will see the Wrist Circle Symbols. You will notice that the Wrist Circles Parallel to the Wall Plane now have a double stemmed curved arrow. That is something new in the ISWA...see diagram attached...continued next message ....
