Because the hands are at different levels when they start, I suppose not. However, I just always write it to be safe whenever the hands are moving non-simultaneously. They are not moving parallel, they are not moving at the same time, so that's the way I write it. If they were moving in parallel, I'd write a simultaneous line.

Hello Honza, Charles and Adam -

I like your writings too… Question: Do you feel this symbol is necessary? It states that one hand does a movement, and then the other, and then the other, and then the other… not sure if it is necessary...
