Hoi,As I understand SignWriting, each character is made up of discrete parts that symbolise specific gestures. If this understanding is correct, it follows that where a character is a combination of static parts these static parts can be associated with dynamic parts. That makes it something where a dynamic character is a composition of such parts. When this is correct, it becomes very much a matter of recognising the discrete static parts and associate them with dynamic parts. This could allow for automated compilations of dynamic gifs. What you would do in the train / but / plane is checking if these preprocessed compilations are correct.Thanks,Gerard________________________________________________On 31 December 2013 15:40, Dale Archuleta <[log in to unmask]> wrote:
Yes I do agree it will takes much of time and energy to get it done. Thats a reason why I asked if there's some kind android or apple apps that able to create gif. So we can create animate while we are on bored road trips, waiting in the line, etc. We are carrying smart phones more than we carry the laptops. I just think technology are growing so fast. Who knows how useful animation signwriting could be in the future. I think it would be well worth..

Hi Gerard,
If that would be so easy ... would be fine. Smile –
Well it should not be able to show a gif that shows a sequence of 6 or more written signs as a kind of slideshow – but to create a animated gif that shows every sign as an animation ..wow ... cannot imagine how much time, energy, competence this will take.
All best
Stefan

So if I understand it well, when you have words that are animated, a sentence is a series of words connected serially.. ?
If that is so, making animated words as well as the still words in SignWriting is a really exciting prospect ...
Do I really understand this right ??
Thanks,
Gerard

Thank you, André, for telling us about http://gifmaker.me - I just used it to make a tiny little animation of the numbers 1-5 in ASL…
It is so easy to create!

Is the animation moving for all of you?
