I am not part of any institution and I am not an academic: I was doing that for my personal interest in learning sign languages, with the hope that, whatever I am able to do, it could be useful. My name is Daniele Giacomini and I am 55. For three years, so far, I have been a special needs teacher for high school. I had the occasion to attend an introductory course to LIS (Italian sign language), and my need for making notes lead me to the SignWriting.
