Hello Stephen,
As long as there is, available, a consistent tool for drawing and reproducing SignWriting using Unicode, I believe that that is the only way to ensure spreading of knowledge through actual reusability.

At the moment, the only type of support that I am looking forward to, is the diffusion of the address (the link) of this work, so that, those who can be interested could find it. Therefore, if anybody interested would read it, I hope then, that they might want to send me directions for corrections or better representation of the signs.

Thank you all for your attention.

Regards,
Daniele

Hi Daniele Giacomini, Wow! What a nice project. I'm glad you used the SignWriting in Unicode (SWU) encoding. Thanks for sharing. International sign language is an interesting topic with many possibilities. Using SignWriting to record sign language just makes sense. Please keep us informed and let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Regards, -Steve

Hello,

I would like to introduce you something I made, using the SignWriting system, in relation to International Sign and LIS (Italian sign language).

I am not part of any institution and I am not an academic: I was doing that for my personal interest in learning sign languages, with the hope that, whatever I am able to do, it could be useful. To ensure reusability I included the SWU encoding that I obtained using SignMaker 2017 http://www.signbank.org/signmaker/#?ui=en .

My particular dream would be that International Sign could get more attention and could develop into an actual international language, for deaf and for hearing people. An international language should be unrelated to culture (and tradition), and therefore should not be “owned” by any particular community. In my opinion, IS has the potential to become such a language, for the benefit of everyone.

My name is Daniele Giacomini and I am 55. For three years, so far, I have been a special needs teacher for high school. I had the occasion to attend an introductory course to LIS (Italian sign language), and my need for making notes lead me to the SignWriting.
