The group in Germany behind the sign2mint project requested an improvement to sign searching.
Previously, searching with query strings only works with AND searching.
They wanted the ability to search with OR, such as symbol A OR B.
As I was explaining why this wouldn't work, I realized I was wrong.

I found the idea fascinating and I couldn't stop myself.
Once I figured out how I could do it, I had to give it a try.
I expanded the query string for FSW and SWU to include OR searching.
The query strings now accept the letter 'o' to indicate OR.

I was able to spend a couple of hours this week getting ready.
Today, I was able to finish the code during my weekend office hours.
It took about 9 hours today, but the code is finished, tested and published.

Symbols in FSW use the symbol key, such as S10000.
Symbols in SWU use symbol characters, such as 񀀒 which will display the actual symbol if you have the Sutton SignWriting One-D font installed.

For the sake of simplicity, I'll be referencing symbols by the letters A, B, C, and D.

QABCD - signs that include symbols A and B and C and D.
QAoBoCoD - signs that include symbols A or B or C or D.
QAoBCoD - signs that include symbols (A or B) and (C or D)
QABoCD - signs that include symbols A and (B or C) and D

The OR searching works for the temporal prefix and the spatial signbox.
You can use symbol or range definitions.

I still need to update the specification in draft-slevinski-formal-signwriting and create an episode of the SignWriting Stream to explain to new development.
