Hello SW List and Josenilson!
I can imagine it took you many hours to write the mime and gesture of Stefan’s video. 12 hours is actually not that long, considering the richness of subtle movement in that video :-)

So, discussing my choice of writing the right hand with a right Arm Movement Arrow, grasping the head and pulling it up - As you know, when you see a dark arrowhead (black) or a light arrowhead (white), this means an Arm Movement. The black arrowhead is the right arm moving alone, and the white arrowhead is the left arm moving alone.

Then there is a General Movement Arrow for both right and left arm movements, that means that both the right arm and the left arm move at the same time along the same path - but that is another discussion and is not relevant in this case.

The reason an Arm Movement Arrow is needed, I feel, in this case, is because there is a GRASP symbol, showing the right hand grasping and holding onto the head. The GRASP symbol is a Contact Symbol, and Contact Symbols are oftentimes written in conjunction with Arm Movement Arrows, to show the direction the contact moves.

And I looked at the video again, and the GRASP was a good choice I think, because the GRASP continues to hold the head until the end of the right arm pulling it up.

The stretching of the neck also occurs at the same time which is also shown. When the Neck stretches, it uses a General Arrow inside the Neck symbol, because it is neither right nor left, but the whole Neck stretching

So there are two movements happening simultaneously - the right arm grasping and pulling the head up, and the neck stretching -

I think later we can discuss the General Arrowheads, but for right now, just realize that there were two very separate movements happening here - the right arm movement, and the neck movement which has no right or left…

Hello SW List and Valerie!

Thank you, Valerie!

My Sunday was great!

I worked on Stefan's video for three days, about twelve hours in total.

His suggestions for the neck stretching movement were followed.

I thought it would not be right to write the movement arrow over the hand to indicate that it pulls the head up.

Doesn't the hand look away from the head?

Wouldn't it be better to use this arrow to show that the hand and the head move together?

Is this arrow just for hand movement ?

Please continue to send feedback on the transcript. We are all learning a lot about torso movements.

I wish everyone health!

The more I looked at this, his neck stretches up the most - so in this case I think we can avoid writing the Torso Movement, but instead write the symbol for the neck with the arrow showing it is stretching - and also at the end of the movement his head does a very quick “looking side to side”, so I added the arrows for the side to side head movement - there are also other details that could be added like a protruding chin and so forth… please see attached - is this helpful? should I continue?

Are there others here on the SignWriting List who could continue to give feedback? I hope so!

And thank you, Josenilson, for your writing of this video - it is a wonderful project -
